# Slack > Let the Business Analyst read the channels where requirements actually happen, and keep discovery in sync with every decision made in Slack. _CommerceCopilot documentation ยท Integrations_ Requirements rarely live in documents. They live in the project channel: the client's "one more thing" message, the decision made at 11pm, the screenshot with an arrow drawn on it. The Slack integration lets the Business Analyst read those channels as discovery input, so nothing said in Slack gets lost on the way to the backlog. ## What CommerceCopilot uses Slack for - **Discovery ingestion.** Bind a Slack channel to a project and the Business Analyst reads the conversation history, then keeps listening as new messages arrive. Every relevant message flows into the project's living discovery model alongside your notes and meeting transcripts. - **Live meeting commentary.** If you set the [meeting notetaker's](/docs/meeting-notetaker) live feedback mode to Slack thread, the Business Analyst posts the questions it would ask during a call into a thread in the bound channel, one thread per meeting, instead of interrupting the call. - **Bug-report follow-ups.** When the QA agent posts a finding to Slack, it watches the thread for replies and uses them to classify false positives, so a "that's intended behavior" answer from your team actually teaches it something. ## Connect Slack Connecting happens once, at the organization level, by an owner or admin of your CommerceCopilot workspace. 1. Go to **Settings** in the sidebar. 2. Find the **Slack** card and click **Connect**. ![The Slack integration card on the Settings page with a Connect button](/docs/integration-slack.png) 3. Slack opens its standard authorization screen. Review the requested permissions and pick the workspace to install into, then approve. 4. You are redirected back to Settings with the Slack card showing as connected. > **Prerequisite:** you need permission to install apps into your Slack workspace. In workspaces with app approval turned on, ask a Slack admin to approve CommerceCopilot first. ### Permissions requested CommerceCopilot asks for read access to public channels, private channels it is invited to, and direct messages, plus the ability to post messages and resolve member names and emails. It posts to a channel only for the disclosure message described below, the weekly digest of open questions, QA findings you configure, and the per-meeting live commentary thread if you turn that mode on. ## Bind a channel to a project Slack ingestion is opt-in per project and per channel: 1. In Slack, invite the CommerceCopilot bot to the channel you want the project to listen to. 2. In CommerceCopilot, open the project, go to **Settings**, and pick the **Discovery** section. 3. Under **Slack channel**, choose the channel from the picker. ![A project's discovery settings showing the Slack channel binding and the summarize toggle](/docs/discovery-slack-binding.png) 4. Turn on **Summarize the Slack channel into discovery**. From then on, the Business Analyst captures messages from the channel into the project's discovery model and posts a weekly digest of open questions back to the channel. Before reading anything, the Business Analyst posts a one-time disclosure message in the channel so everyone in it knows an agent is listening. This is deliberate and cannot be turned off: clients and teammates should never discover after the fact that a bot was reading along. ## Troubleshooting - **The channel picker says Slack is not connected.** The organization-level connection is missing or expired. Check the Slack card under **Settings**; reconnecting refreshes access. - **The summarize toggle is unavailable.** It stays off until a channel is bound and the bot is a member of that channel. Invite the bot in Slack, then re-pick the channel. - **Messages are not showing up in discovery.** Ingestion is continuous but not instant; expect a short delay between a message landing in Slack and the model updating. ## Next steps - [Your first discovery project](/docs/your-first-discovery-project) - [Meeting notetaker](/docs/meeting-notetaker) for the calls that happen outside Slack --- Canonical page: https://www.commercecopilot.ai/fr/docs/slack
