# Getting started > Create your account, set up your organization, and understand how projects and credits work in CommerceCopilot. _CommerceCopilot documentation ยท Getting started_ CommerceCopilot puts an AI Business Analyst on every project your agency runs. It reads briefs, Slack threads, meeting recordings, and designs, then turns them into sprint-ready tickets your team can deliver against. This guide takes you from a blank signup form to a workspace that is ready for its first project. ## Before you begin You need three things: - A work email address - About five minutes - Optionally: a brief or statement of work for a real project, so your first run produces something you can use No credit card is required to create the account. A subscription is required before you can create projects and run agents. ## Step 1: Create your account Go to [app.commercecopilot.ai/signup](https://app.commercecopilot.ai/signup) and fill in your name, work email, and a password of at least 8 characters. ![The CommerceCopilot signup form with fields for full name, email address, and password](/docs/signup-account.png) Use your company email rather than a personal address. CommerceCopilot reads the domain to suggest your organization name in the next step, and teammates who sign up later with the same domain can find and join your workspace with an invite. ## Step 2: Choose how you join Next, decide whether you are starting a workspace or joining one: ![The workspace step of signup, offering to create a new organization or join with an invite code](/docs/signup-workspace.png) - **Create a new organization** if you are the first person from your agency on CommerceCopilot. - **Join with an invite code** if a teammate already set up your workspace. Ask them for the code from their Settings page, enter it here, and skip the next step. ## Step 3: Name your organization Your organization is the shared workspace for your whole team: projects, integrations, and billing all live at this level. ![The organization step of signup with a name field, an editable URL slug, and a subdomain preview](/docs/signup-organization.png) Pick the name your team uses day to day. The URL slug is derived automatically and checked for availability as you type; you can edit it, but it is part of your workspace URL, so shorter is better. Submit, and you land in your new workspace. ## Step 4: Activate your subscription Until your organization has an active subscription, a single plan gate stands between you and your first project. The Business Analyst plan is $49 per month and includes 135 credits every month. Credits are the unit of work in CommerceCopilot, and they are shared across everything the Business Analyst does. As a reference, 135 credits covers any mix of: | What | How far 135 credits goes | | --- | --- | | Active discovery projects | 6 projects | | Meeting notes | 33 hours | | Ticket generation | 540 tickets | You can top up credits at any time from the **Billing** page without changing plans. ## Your workspace at a glance After subscribing you land on the **Projects** page. Here is what it looks like once a couple of projects are underway: ![The Projects page listing active projects with phase badges and a drafts section](/docs/projects-list.png) The sidebar gives you three areas: - **Projects**: every project your team runs, each with its own discovery workspace, ticket board, and settings. - **Billing**: your plan, credit balance, usage this period, and top-ups. - **Settings**: organization-wide configuration, team invitations, and the integration cards for [Slack](/docs/slack), [Notion](/docs/notion), [Jira](/docs/jira), [GitHub](/docs/github), [Shopify](/docs/shopify), and [Figma](/docs/figma). The header shows your plan and live credit balance at all times, so you always know where you stand before kicking off a run. ## Step 5: Create your first project Click **New Project**. CommerceCopilot asks one question that decides the shape of your project: ![The New Project wizard with two starting modes: I have a brief, and Start with discovery](/docs/new-project-modes.png) - **I have a brief.** You already hold a statement of work, requirements document, or spec. The Business Analyst reads it and drafts a full, dependency-mapped ticket backlog for your review. Follow [From brief to tickets](/docs/your-first-brief-to-ticket-project). - **Start with discovery.** The project is still taking shape: requirements live in people's heads, Slack threads, and calls. The Business Analyst builds a living model of the problem as signal arrives, and proposes tickets when it knows enough. Follow [Your first discovery project](/docs/your-first-discovery-project). There is no wrong choice. A brief-first project gets a discovery workspace too, and a discovery project produces the same sprint-ready tickets in the end. Pick whichever matches the state of the project on your desk right now. > **Tip:** connecting a ticket tracker and repository is optional. You can create and run projects with nothing connected, then export tickets once [Notion](/docs/notion) or [Jira](/docs/jira) is set up. ## Inviting your team Head to **Settings** and click **Invite member**. Enter a teammate's email, or leave the field blank to create an open invite anyone at your agency can use, and pick their role. Whoever signs up with the invite joins your workspace directly, sharing projects, integrations, and the credit pool. ## Next steps - [Your first discovery project](/docs/your-first-discovery-project) - [From brief to tickets](/docs/your-first-brief-to-ticket-project) - [Connect Slack](/docs/slack) so discovery can read the channels where requirements actually happen --- Canonical page: https://www.commercecopilot.ai/docs/getting-started
